Don't miss the Downtown Provo Gallery Stroll! On the first Friday of every month head to downtown Provo for the coolest variety of entertainment around. Music, art, theater and more will keep you busy all evening. There is a free Gallery Stroll from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
Children's Celebration of the Arts
The Provo Arts Council and Provo Parks and Recreation will host the Twenty-Third Annual Children's Celebration of the Arts, Saturday, June 3. A great event for the entire family, the celebration features arts and crafts for the children, live entertainment, and guest artists. The day begins at 10 A.M. and lasts until 3 P.M. at Pioneer Park (500 W. Center Street). Admission is only $2.00 per person for the entire day. This year, the Arts Council expects over 50 booths, each intended to entice children to release their "creative powers" with a variety of arts and crafts. Activities include entertainment, face painting, Guest Artists, and much, much more. The event welcomes children of all ages, and most activities are geared mainly for children between three and twelve years old.Located at Pioneer Park 500 West Center Street, this annual event celebrates children and their imagination. Freedom Days
July 4th
Freedom Days is a festival that showcases some of the region's finest hand-crafted artwork, fun hands-on activities, local entertainment, and tantalizing tastes. It includes unique cultural creative pieces that are often difficult to find elsewhere. Freedom Days also includes popular vendors, bringing creations such as handcrafted quilts, furniture, paintings, clocks, pottery and more. There is something every age can enjoy. Parents and children alike are invited to join the fun at the Children's Art Yard with a free "make-and-take" area where those who are young or just "young-at-heart" can show their creative skills. Other activities have included face painting, making sand bottles, bean mosaics, the ever-popular SLIME, and much more!
Movies Done Right- Provo’s Movies in the Park
For the fourth year in a row Provo Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Business Alliance are teaming to bring the community a fun filled free event! Movies in the Park will take place again this year at Pioneer Park , located on Center Street and 500 West. Every Monday night in August you can bring your blankets, your kids, or a date and come out to watch all your favorite classic musicals. Every year a theme is picked to keep the films interesting and friendly to all ages, and this year is no exception! All films will start at 8:30 PM and go until around 11:00 PM for a unique movie watching experience under the stars. Nothing quite compares to classic movies on the big screen with a warm summer breeze and the company of your neighbors. Come watch movies the way they were meant to be experienced!
Provo’s Farmers Market
Provo ’s Farmers Market will be held every Saturday in downtown Provo from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Pioneer Park at 100 South between 500-600 West. The market starts in June and runs through October. The goal of the Market is to provide a friendly, community gathering place for the neighborhoods in and around downtown Provo . The Market will include fresh produce from farmers across the county, as well as homegrown products from neighborhood growers. The market will also have a section for craft and retail vendors, as well as free activities for the kids. All profits from the market will go back into the community to fund educational projects, programs, and equipment. We are looking for all interested growers to participate. Blue Sky Concert Series
Every Monday night in June and July (except July 4). Join the Provo Arts Council and the Downtown Alliance for free family concerts in Pioneer Park 500 West Center. A trumpet fanfare will announce the beginning of the program. Don’t forget to pick up a dinner to go at anyone of the 35 plus restaurants in downtown Provo . Bring blankets and chairs as well. 7:00 – 8:15 p.m.

2008 Freedom Festival Fine Art Exhibit
In it’s tenth year, the Provo Arts Council and America 's Freedom Festival promises this year's annual Fine Art Exhibit to be as great as ever. Centered around the Freedom Festival theme, this juried show offers opportunities to display a wide variety of artistic talent in the medium of painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. The art exhibit encourages local artists to display their work and familiarizes the community with the quality and diversity of the visual arts in this area. Artwork selected hangs in the Covey Center for the Arts.
Downtown Provo’s Annual Safe Halloween
The businesses in downtown Provo invite you to join us on October 31, for their eighth annual “Safe Halloween”. Downtown Provo will be the place to see and be seen this Halloween, with events promoting fun and safety. The children will be able to trick or treat to their hearts content in the numerous businesses downtown. The event kicks off at 3:00 p.m. with trick or treating continuing until 6:00 p.m. For additional information on this event, please contact the Alliance office at 377-5700.
Provo ’s WinterFest Christmas Parade
The annual Christmas Parade will begin at 500 West Center Street, continue eastbound to 100 West where the parade will make a u-turn and travel westbound down Center Street and proceed down University Avenue to 100 South.
Lights-On Celebration will commence at the Covey Center for the Arts, 425 W. Center St., at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate the lighting of Downtown Provo as students lead a processional singing Christmas carols. This event is FREE. Call 852-7013 or visit www.provo.org for more information.
Unveiling of the Candy Windows. Several community artists are working throughout the year to create these tasty sculptures in windows displayed in storefront window along Center Street. This year's theme is "Winter Wonderland." The windows will be unveiled immediately following the Provo City WinterFest Lights-On Ceremony in November and will be displayed through New Year's Day.If you are interested in becoming a 2006 Candy Window artist, please plan to attend our first Candy Window meeting which will be held Tuesday, February 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Provo Arts Council offices, 310 West Center. If you cannot attend this meeting and wish to be part of the 2006 Candy Window team, please contact the Arts Council at 801-852-7645.
The Living Nativity Pageant will have three FREE shows nightly acting out the story of Jesus’ birth at the Provo Tabernacle Park . Performance times are scheduled for 6:30, 7:00, and 7:30 p.m.
