As part of the Downtown Business Alliance of Provo’s planning and goals to establish a Business Improvement District and transitions from being city funded, the volunteer Board of Directors has decided to suspend operations as the board continues to explore how to best establish a synergistic relationship with area businesses.
The board seeks the appropriate amount of funding and participation from the district businesses. As operations have been running on reserve funds since the contract with
Provo
City expired in August, the board felt they could no longer spend reserve capital until a fully vetted business plan has been established.
The
Alliance expects to shortly organize a group of volunteers to continue the popular “First Friday Gallery Stroll” that was established and maintained by the Downtown Business Alliance of Provo. Other programs that have been enjoyed by the community of
Utah
County will also be evaluated by the board to ensure continued successes.
